The 32,000 SF Headquarters facility is located in the planned urban center of Kenmore, WA. Using stringent urban design guidelines, the anchor community facility will provide a new gateway to the eastern edge of the developing city core and function as a model for future downtown development.
The two-story facility includes a public gallery and meeting space, an Emergency Operations Center, administration functions and operations for the North portion of Lake Washington. TCA has designed this “operations first” fire station to maximize site opportunities within the given site constraints, provide a strong urban edge and meet sustainable design objectives of the department.
In addition to the facility, an on-site training tower has been developed to allow for on-site training without shifts being taken out of service.
