JOINT TRAINING FACILITY
Seattle, WA
The City of Seattle Joint Training Facility Campus provides a versatile, complex and durable training center for the members of the Seattle Fire Department, Seattle Public Utilities, and the Seattle Department of Transportation.
The project team coined the phrase "Triple Duty" as a theme for the project as a result of City Departments partnering together to develop a project that is multi-use in nature, thus saving valuable resources and reducing the overall campus size. The 12.6-acre site, at the edge of Seattle City Limits, incorporates natural onsite water as it engages and moves through the site in an operational and resourceful fashion.
Working with Boxwood Architects, this project will become the first LEED Silver Certified Training Facility in the country.
The facility includes:
Classroom building
Mock fire station
Two towers
Urban road prop with a bridge
